Owen’s Odyssey – Game Update

It came down to the wire, but I met a self-imposed milestone with my iOS/Android game, Owen’s Odyssey, this morning. After many late nights I have completed 10 of 30 levels.

Owen’s Odyssey is the story of a boy, while on a journey, taking refuge from a storm in a dangerous castle. A castle where spikes, saws, fire, falling rocks, lava and creatures try and kill him. It’s a crappy place to take refuge. It’s okay, though. He can float past dangers using his trusty propeller hat.

It’s taken a long time to get even this far. In February, I decided to make a video game, despite not having any experience in doing something so daunting. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I’m pretty proud that I’ve completed a third of it. There are many more milestones and challenges to come, but this thing will be done by the end of the year because I said so.
